"I�m just packing the stitches together and using sewing thread. I wanted to go into traditional illustration before I began sewing so I�ve spent a lot of time drawing and painting and still work from a detailed sketch, which I think probably helps."
"I approach needle painting a lot like how I paint, and I wouldn�t paint with one colour at a time, so I have several on the go so I can blend as I stitch. I guess I can see how one at a time would work with traditional needle painting, but since I tend to work with several tones at the same time and in a very small space I would be tying off and changing colour every couple of minutes."
