Buffalo-based artist Maude White (previously here) is back with a new series of illustrations cut from single sheets of paper as part of her upcoming exhibition at Buffalo Arts Studio.
"When I cut paper, I like the idea that I�m interacting with the paper. I�m not using the paper to say something�we�re working together, the paper and I. It is important to me for the piece we create to be immersive. Ideally, that means that the scene I�ve created is interesting and engaging and stimulating and draws the viewer in. That�s what I always try for. The act of cutting the paper adds another layer. The piece of work can be visually, as well as thematically, immersive. I love paper. I love thinking that by working with it, the paper and I are telling a story together."
